Arrest of Landru 100 years ago today

12th April 1919 saw the arrest of France’s most notorious serial killer Henri Desiree Landru, known as the French Bluebeard. He is the subject of Richard Tomlinson’s brilliant biography, out in paperback today. For the first time the ten women who disappeared (there were probably scores more) are given proper attention and Richard comes up with the first realistic solution to the mystery of their murders - as nobodies were ever found.
